The Organisation
The Vanuatu Skills Partnership aims to develop new approaches for a national skills system that better links skills training to economic outcomes within a quality assured framework. It has a dual focus on supporting the development of ni-Vanuatu entrepreneurship and the growth of the local private sector, as well as creating pathways for further formal training and employment opportunities
The Position
Under the guidance of the SfH Adviser, and working closely with the Department of Industry (DoI), the SfH Coordinator will be responsible for managing the planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of all SfH activity
Essential Selection Criteria
► Relevant tertiary level qualifications
► Excellent project management and multi-tasking skills, and proven experience in the management and administration of complex programs.
► This position is for ni-Vanuatu citizens only
Desirable Selection Criteria
► Excellent project management and multi-tasking skills, and proven experience in the management and administration of complex programs.
► Outstanding relational and inter-personal skills and ability to work in team-based approach.
► Proven experience in supporting business/community development.
► Excellent communication skills, both written and oral in Bislama and English, including strong report-writing skills.

            BACKGROUND
            The Government of Vanuatu and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH are working in partnership to provide a space for the voices of young Pacific Islanders. Selected youth representatives will be empowered to tell their personal climate change experiences with a focus on solutions and express their concerns on global stage during an official side-event in the Fiji Pavilion in the Bonn Zone at the 23rd session of the Conference of the Parties (COP23) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in Bonn, Germany (6-17 November 2017).
            The future of the Pacific Island region is at stake as the effects of climate change pose a unique threat to the livelihoods of Pacific Islanders and their inheritance. The adverse consequences of the changing climate are already a reality for Pacific youths today and will be for generations to come. Pacific youths are creative in finding solutions based on their traditional and contemporary knowledge. This side event will showcase their strengths and needs.

            Job Description:
            The Marketing Manager is responsible for the production implementation and management of the Vanuatu Jungle Zipline marketing plan. This position is open to all and Ni-Vanuatu nationals are encouraged to apply. It is based in downtown Port Vila.  

            This position will be offered on a contract basis with a salary package reflecting the qualifications, skills and experiences of the successful applicant. 

            Duties and responsibilities:
            The following are the duties and responsibilities of the officer to this post:
            • The Marketing Manager reports to the General Manager and liaises with the Accounts Manager and Operations Manager
            • Update the current marketing plan
            • Implementation of the marketing plan, including;
            1. Local advertising - updating print ads
            2. Brochure and media advertising keep up to date
            3. Tour sales staff familiarisation and training
            4. Managing online sales and bookings and increase the volume
            5. Videos - splicing together short clips to make 1 minute promotional videos for tv
            6. Social media posts to FB, instagram and other modes
            7. Cruise Ship markets - creating new promotional ideas
            8. International sales markets - forging new relationships
            9. Sales to independent travelers  
            10. Updating all tv advertisements in hotels
            11. Marketing and liaison with school and business group bookings
            • Represent VJZ at VTOA meetings and VTO
            • Represent VJZ at Tok Tok
            • Implementing a new payment and booking system like VEND or REZDY
            • Co-coordinating marketing and promotional activities with the Vanuatu tourism industry including advertising, travel shows, trade fairs, seminars/workshops and other relevant marketing activities. Liaise with advertising agencies in regards to promoting and managing the brand and tagline
            • Preparation and distribution of appropriate sales promotional materials
            • Reporting the marketing expenditure
            • Prepare and provide monthly reports to the General Manager and the Board of Directors on the implementation of market activities and performance for each market
            • Meeting key performance indicators such as;
            1. Sales calls
            2. Monthly forecasts
            3. Famil tours for sales staff
            • Any Other duties as directed by the General Manager.
            Criteria:
            • Applicants should possess experience and or formal training in the field related to marketing, or be able to demonstrate a competency to write and implement a marketing program 
            • Possess a high level of customer service, team player and be a self-starter
            • Must be competent, written and spoken, in the English language. Computing skills such as spreadsheets, word processing, video editing, social media use are VERY HIGHLY regarded
            • Knowledge of tourism industry in Vanuatu comprising of key partners and stakeholders are   important.
