Strategic Planning – developing consumer insight to drive marketing planning. Contribute to the management team’s strategic planning, Product Development – ‘gatekeeper’ for all new products/initiatives and project management, Market Analysis/Forecasting/Marketing Mapping – identify psychographics of market segments; determine size of segments and relative

profitability for mobile phone penetration, Point-Of-Sale – ideation, in-market implementation, evaluation approval, material development, Promotions/Sponsorship – negotiations with larger sponsorship properties, or handset principals, ideation as to exploitation, supervision of field execution of initiatives, Media – Planning, buying and evaluation of all media to

gain breakthrough effectiveness while achieving commercial efficiency, Communication – primary contact for commercial related interfaces with the media. Approve activities of PR, design and advertising agencies in relation to activities about the brand’s look, sound and feel in the press, other print media and on the electronic media including internet, Pricing –

approving all the pricing plans developed by the Pricing Analyst. Monitoring the relative profitability mix of the products to build increase value, Budget management – in an environment of shifting priorities, this role needs to effectively plan and allocate resources to drive different elements of the marketing mix while staying within budget. An annual budget is done at

the start of the year and is revised monthly, People Management – Manage and co-ordinate activities and take full responsibility for the management and development of the sales teams, Contribute to the success of Digicel in Tonga through active teamwork with participation in cross-company projects and processes.


- At least 8 years marketing experience (3-5 years minimum at a senior level) with a significant track record in brand management, equity building, campaign development in a mobile telecoms organisation

- Knowledge of international brands or overseas work experience, management of agencies and research companies and Knowledge of key local media owners/editors

- A track record in strategic thinking and planning – translated into action through demonstrated leadership capabilities, a proven commercial awareness with regard to revenue generation and cost reduction

and well developed interpersonal and negotiating skills

- Financial planning and budget management experience and excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence people at all levels internal and external to the organisation

- Sense of ownership and responsibility with a proven track record of working on own initiative as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team and clear thinking and clear communication
