| | The Reserve Bank of Vanuatu invites applications from interested members the public for the vacant post above. |
| | The main duties of the Currency Officer who will report to the Currency Controller are as follows: |
| | - Be a Custodian of the Vault; |
| | - Be a member of the panel to access the Vault and accounting vouchers signatories; |
| | - Be in charge of all authorized movements of currency in and out of the Vault; |
| | - Maintain records of all movement to and from Vault using appropriate slips to be further substantiated by relative entries in the Treasury Register ursde his/her control |
| | - Check the contents of the Vault in bulk at end of every working day and in complete details to agree the counts with Treasury Register balances under his/her control |
| | - Have ability to check monthly analysis of currency statistics and understand the type of information to be sourced; |
| | - Ensure the accurate processing of all issues and deposits of currency and commemorative coins to and from commercial banks, banking office and Currency office; |
| | - Possess supervisory skills in assigning work to the Currency clerks, in consultation with counterpart Currency Officer; |
| | - Have initiative to flag to attention of Currency Controller any malfunctioning of equipment assigned to Currency Office and rigidly adhere to the regulations governing the office. |
| | - Capacity to assess and present written reports to the Currency Controller on currency matters. Perform other duties as assigned from time to time by the Currency Controller |
| | Criteria: |
| | - Desirable applicants should possess a Degree in business studies majoring in Accounting. Banking or Commerce with knowledge of currency matters, though Diploma holders will be considered if supported |
| | by 2-3 years of experience; |
| | - A good knowledge of central Banking accounting and currency related issues essential; |
| | - Applicants should be fluent in both .written and spoken English and have a working knowledge French. |
