Job Description:

The Integrated Framework (IF) for Trade-Related Technical Assistance (TRTA) to Least-Developed Countries (LDCs) is an international programme that was first established in 1997 to support trade capacity development as a catalyst for growth. The IF represented a unique partnership through which six core international organizations combined their efforts with those

of the LDCs beneficiaries and development partners. Other broad objectives of the IF were to mainstream trade into LDCs’ national development plans and poverty reduction strategies; and to provide an instrument for coordinated delivery of trade related technical assistance in response to needs identified by LDCs. The objective of this exercise is to review selected

projects implemented under the IFTF between 2001-2010 with a view toward providing case-stories about the results and in particular poverty reduction and gender empowerment impacts. It is also expected that the case-stories will help to identify possible drivers of long-term change generated by the projects.



The objective of this assignment is to produce a case story for the IFTF projects implemented in Vanuatu, namely the Vanuatu Diagnostic Trade Integration Study and the Vanuatu Trade Integration and Capacity Building Project. The position will be based in Port Vila, Vanuatu and will report to the UNDP designated focal point in the Country Office and to the Geneva

Trade and Human Development Unit. Female candidates are encouraged to apply. - A post-graduate degree in economics, economic development, or a related field; Previous work experience with international organizations or donors, particularly in the area of trade, is required; Expertise in

monitoring and evaluation of development interventions is required

- Excellent communication, particularly writing skills, in (English); Experience in featuring case stories and in journalism is welcomed.
