Save the Children is the world’s largest independent child rights development organisation, making a difference to children’s lives in more than 100 countries. From emergency relief to long-term development, Save the Children secures a child’s right to health, education and protection.

Save the Children implements youth-focused health and development projects in 5 provinces of Vanuatu, through the Strengthening Adolescent Reproductive and Sexual Health (STARS) Program. Working directly with communities and young people in particular, the Program includes activities such as Community Outreach, Peer Education and Condom

Social Marketing, Sustainable Livelihoods, Life Skills, Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) services, education and awareness, climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction and child protection. Duties and responsibilities:

1) The main objective of the Island Coordinator (Malekula) is to manage the effective planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of Save the Children’s

2) Be responsible for managing the performance of the Island Team through development and review of quarterly and weekly work plans and annual performance appraisals.

Interested applicant must possess the following:

Criteria:

- Have proven experience in developing and following work plans, and supporting the implementation of work/activity plans of others; Be able to manage and support the work of a diverse team across

multiple locations; Be able to make a meaningful contribution to the development of program strategy and program components

- Have excellent organisational and time management skills; Have strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Bislama; Have demonstrated experience in producing financial

reports in excel format

- Have demonstrated experience in producing narrative reports in English using MS word; Be able to delegate and assign work to others; Have proven experience in providing leadership and guidance,

and be willing to enforce Save the Children code of conduct

- Be able to approach and work with a range of stakeholders including community leaders and government officials; Be able to encourage and educate young people; Be able to travel to, and work in

remote communities.

Salary:

Remuneration will be negotiated based on skills and experience.
