Job Description:

Live and Learn Environmental Education, Vanuatu is urgently seeking a competent individual for the position of Invasive Species Project Community Mobilization Officer for our Erromango Branch. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated person to immediately fill the position.

Only applicants who are willing to relocate to and remain in Erromango for the entire duration of the project (therefore 2015) or are currently living in Erromango and will continue to remain there may, apply. If an applicant has any record of a criminal history, this will adversely impact on his/her application as a Vanuatu Police Clearance will be

required from the successful applicant.

The Terms of Reference (TOR), roles and responsibilities of the successful applicant will include:

1) Execution of the Invasive Species Management Model on Erromango

2) Coordination of all activities on Erromango and other Invasive Species project as required;

3) Providing training to all community members

4) Collection of statistical data for the purpose of monitoring and evaluation

5) Any other activities and directives from the Project Manager or the Country Manager.

Applicants must have the following skills and attributes:

Criteria:

- Ability to work with local communities and the established local Invasive Species Project’s local Development Committee; Ability to work well under pressure and within deadlines

- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and in organizing work; Have good comprehension of spoken and written English and good report writing skills

- Have working knowledge of MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel and MS Power point), email and Skype; Demonstrated management experience and skills; Ability to manage all logistic requirements in the

Erromango Project Office and work site(s)

- Ability to take initiative and work under minimum supervision; Has excellent community engagement skills; Will respect and abide by the principles of Live and Learn Environmental Education, Vanuatu

- Willingness to work and remain in Erromango; Have some formal training [knowledge and skills] in forestry and/or agriculture.
