Job Description:

Luganville Municipal Council wishes to recruit a qualified and experienced person for the following position.



PURPOSE:

To provide high level project advice, and the capacity to develop project proposals, conduct assessment, identify feasible projects, monitor and evaluate various existing and new projects for the Luganville Municipal Council.



Responsibilities

- Assist the Town Planning Manager in the overall management of the Council projects.

- Assist the Town Planning Manager to identify suitable projects for the Council

- Provide regular advise on project related matters to the Council

- Be responsible to design and draft sustainable projects that may generate sufficient revenue to the Council

- Liaise with all sections within the Luganville Municipal council to identify their project needs and provide sound technical advice.

- Liaise with Aid donors in relations to any existing or new project proposals.

- To assist in coordination of corporate planning for the Council

- To ensure Council decisions are implemented as soon as they armade.



WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

The Project Officer will report directly to the Planning Manager.

The Project Officer will work closely with all heads of departments and the Planning unit, the department of Provincial Affairs and will need to develop working relationships with other Government departments.

Criteria:

- Diploma or degree in relevant area is preferable; Legal clearance to be employed and be a resident in Vanuatu ; 2-3 years in the related field

- Computer literate; Analytical; Practical; Legal clearance to be employed and be a resident in Vanuatu

- Highly motivated and able to work without supervision; A willingness to learn and share knowledge. Ability to make decisions and to follow up and get things done

- Ability to work and communicate with a wide range of people; Ability to work with limited resources and make the best of them.
