Job Description:

UNDP Pacific Centre (PC) and selected international Non-Government Organizational (INGO)will be implementing a Regional Programme on reducing risk and building resilience in the Pacific (the 'Pacific Risk Resilience Programme') funded by the department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).

The new programme aims to develop cooperative, constructive engagement and partnerships between Pacific Island communities and their local level government to strengthen resilience to natural diasters and climate change related risk. The programme will be implemented in 4 target countries - Fiji, Tongoa, solomon Isands and Vanuatu. The new program will run initially for a

period of four years, 2012-2015.

Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Project Coordinator- Pacific Risk resilience Program (P4) based in UNDP Suva, Fiji the Programme/Administrative Assistant shall work in close collobaration with the UNDP Joint Operations Centre(JOC), PRRP Programme Officers based in UN Joint Presence in Vanuatu, UNDP Tonga, UNDP sub-office in Solomon Islands, and other teams in

the UNDP Pacific Centre Office for resolving PRRP administrative and programme-related issues and information delivery.

Key functions include:

- Ensures effective administrative and logistical support.

- Provide support and assistance to the Team in management of the team initiatives.

-Support in creation of stragetic partnership and implementation of the resource mobilization strategy for Team initiatives.

- Participation in knowledge building and knowledge sharing.

- Enhanced learning and professional development.



Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

Criteria:

- Completion of Secondary school.

- University Degree in Business or Public Administration, Management is desireable.

- 3-5 years of relevant administrative experience or programme support services.

- Experience in the usage of computers and office soft ware packages.

- Excellent writing, communication and organization skills.

- Excellent team working skills.

- Good interpersonal skills.

High level of accuracy and reliability.
