Job Description:
The ACP-EU Migration Action Project will offer ACP Governments and Regional Organisations technical assistance in the three areas of recommendations of the ACP-EU Dialogue on Migration and Development: 1) visas, 2) remittances, 3) readmission. The incumbent will liaise with Governments of ACP countries and Regional Organisations in the Pacific, and ensure effective support in the implementation of the activities of the Action in those countries. The incumbent will be responsible of programme and financial accountability for the project.
The incumbent will work under the overall programmatic and strategic guidance of the Chief of Mission-IOM Australia/Coordinator and Advisor for NZ, PNG and Pacific, the direct supervision og the Head of the Regional Implementation Unit of the Regional Office in Brussels and the daily supervision of the IOM Head of Office in Vanuatu.

Criteria: 
  • Completed advanced university degree from an accredited academic institution, preferably in Political and Social Science, International Relations and/or Law OR Bachelor degree in the above fields with two years of relevant experience in the field of international migration and project development, management, and evaluation.
  • Sound knowledge of migration issues with specific understanding of regional trends and issues.
  • Proven record of establishing and maintaining good working relations with governmental and diplomatic authorities, national, regional and international institutions as well as civil society actors in countries of the Pacific Region. 
  • Demonstrated regional knowledge and experience in providing technical assistance to governments/CSOs.
  • Excellent level of computer literacy.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of local relevant languages is an asset.
