In 2013/14 the New Zealand Government assisted the Government of Vanuatu to develop a sector plan for tourism - the Vanuatu Strategic Tourism Action Plan (VSTAP). This Plan was developed through broad consultation with key stakeholders and recognises the significance of tourism to the economic development of Vanuatu.
The New Zealand Aid Programme is providing support to implement key components of the VSTAP, including funding to assist with the establishment of a VSTAP Implementation Team. The New Zealand Aid Programme, together with the Vanuatu Government now wishes to commence recruitment of this key position of a Technical Adviser – Industry Marketing & Communications within the Implementation Team.
With a focus on facilitating improved cooperation and communication between the Government and tourism industry in Vanuatu, the Technical Adviser role will have a particular focus on destination marketing and supporting the Tourism Market Development Fund (TMDF).
