The Vanuatu National Provident Fund (VNPF) was established in 1987 to provide security for workers for when they retire at the age of 55. It also provides for permanent incapacity, and survivors’ benefit in the event of death. The Fund is now seeking to recruit for its Head Office in Port Vila, a RISK MANAGEMENT & COMPLIANCE OFFICER.

Primary Objectives of Position
This position is responsible for working closely with the Senior Risk and Compliance Officer for coordinating and overseeing all corporate risk management activities, ensuring compliance with the internal policies, relevant contracts and agreements and all legal and regulatory requirements in accordance with the VNPF Act, and other internal and external regulatory governance requirements.

Key Outcomes:
  • Undertaking the business risk analysis and documenting the results
  • Developing, maintaining and reviewing the risk register
  • Ensuring the Funds compliance framework complies with VNPF Act, Government, external regulatory supervisions and other supervisory authorities
  • Investigating and reporting on compliance breaches, and identifying and documenting agreed upon remedial actions
  • Assist in the facilitation of internal audit reviews and other assignments requested by the Management and the VNPF Board of Trustees.

Qualifications
  • He/she must have a degree or above from a recognized tertiary institution in one or more of the following disciplines
  • Accounting/Commerce
  • Risk Management
  • Other field of study relevant to the office of Risk Management
The incumbent must have 3 years or more in external or internal audit, compliance and risk management experience.

        Salary:

        An attractive salary commensurate with qualifications, experience and abilities would be negotiated with the successful candidates.
