Job Description:


Iririki Island Resort & Spa is seeking a suitable candidate to appoint for the following position.

The Purchasing & Operations Manager will directly supervise aspects of purchasing and be heavily involved in the overall resort operation and supply logistics.  
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Establish relationships with suppliers in order to ensure cost effectiveness
  • Source the most economical route in order to achieve budgeted costs
  • Establish and maintain good and effective storage system
  • Work in conjunction with F&B Cost control to maintain par levels
  • Responsible for maintaining good guest relations within the Resort
  • Oversee F&B Operations in cooperation with the Food & Beverage Manager
  • Expect and react promptly to guests’ requirements and enquires
  • Actively listen and resolve guests’ complaints
  • Oversee and coordinate all arrivals and departures of special guests (VIPs, SAs etc)
  • Formulate budgets and prepare monthly revenue/expense forecasts
  • Maintain customer service/satisfaction standards; handle customer service issues
  • Maintain and operate all computer equipment
  • Supervise, roster, and train Front Office staff & Reservations Staff including security and boat drivers
  • Ensure Daily postings and Direct billings are accurate and timely
  • Ensure the Resorts pricing policies are adhered to
  • Implement yield management principles to ensure the Resorts average room rate and occupancy levels are maintained at the highest possible levels
  • Perform the timely completion of Month End and ad hoc rooms reporting as required by the Resort Owners, General Manager, Sales force or department heads
  • Forecast levels of demand for services and products
  • Keep a constant check on stock levels
  • Conduct research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality
  • Liaise between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers
  • Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers
  • Negotiate and agree contracts, monitoring the quality of service provided
  • Process payments and invoices
  • Keep contract files and use them as reference for the future
  • Forecast price trends and their impact on future activities
  • Develop a purchasing strategy
  • Produce reports and statistics using computer software
  • Evaluate bids and make recommendations, based on commercial and technical factors
  • Ensure suppliers are aware of business objectives
  • Train and supervise the work of other members of staff
  • Responsible for the entire Front Office & Reservations process of the Resort.
    Criteria:
    Requirements:
    • Experience of at least 4 years in Food & Beverage Management
    • Understanding of overall management of a 4.5-5star hotel operation
    • Have good relationships with suppliers on Efate
    • The ability to adapt to different client needs and to develop and maintain successful working relationships
    • The ability to make important decisions and cope with the pressure of demanding targets and tight deadlines.
