Job Description:
Save the  Children in Vanuatu seeks highly motivated candidates for Child Protection Programme;
1 Child Protection Manager (national staff post)

National Child Protection Manager (national staff post)
You will provide senior program management and representation for the Child Protection portfolio, as well as practical support to a Child Rights Situational Analysis exercise. Your familiarity with development programmes in Vanuatu, and in particular the local Child Protection context will be essential to your success.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience working on Child Protection programmes in Vanuatu, with an understanding of child-rights based approaches to development.  You will have a proven track record of developing and delivering training and building the capacity of local partner organisations and their staff.  You will have experience working with donors, including experience in proposal writing and proven representation and advocacy skills, including experience at Cluster meetings. Experience in both development and humanitarian sectors is preferred.

You will make an impact by:
  • Providing extensive support to the development of an overall national child protection and child safeguarding strategic plan, assisting to strengthen program integration, and networking with relevant Ministries, local Civil Society Organisations and International Non-Government Organisations to create opportunities to collaborate and integrate child protection projects and look for opportunities to support the development of Child Protection initiatives within the county.
  • Developing systems for Child Protection program monitoring, quality improvement, accountability, evaluation and learning, and ensuring that learning and results are captured, shared and used to inform future Child Protection program. 
Criteria:
This role requires:
  • Tertiary qualification in social welfare, social science or related field, or extensive related experience
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills in English
  • Ability to work under pressure and willingness to work flexible hours
  • Sound understanding of Monitoring and Evaluation processes and methodologies
  • Good knowledge of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and Child Protection legislation
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate clearly and effectively at all levels
  • Ability to present complex information in a succinct and compelling manner.
