Reporting to the General Manager and Chief Executive Officer, the primary purpose of this role is to lead and coordinate all funds management activities with the aim to deliver on investment objectives, manage and nurture internal and external client relationships and expectations, as well as develop and implement strategies to manage risks on the Fund and corporate levels, while at the same time maximising Fund profitability and sustainability. Increasing Resilience to Climate Change and Natural Hazards Project Job Description: The Vanuatu Meteorological and Geo-hazard Department (VGMD) and National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) have secured funding for a large-scale national adaptation and disaster risk reduction project designed to address Vanuatu’s immediate climate change adaptation needs and mitigate natural disaster risks. The Provincial Disaster Officer will work as a part of NDMO to implement strategies in ensuring Vanuatu is better prepared and more able to respond to Natural Hazards. The Provincial Disaster Officer will be contracted initially for 1 year and be based within the provincial center in Tanna, reporting to the NDMO office in Port Vila.

Required qualifications:

• Diploma, Degree or relevant tertiary qualification in Disaster or Public Administration, Climate Change, Environmental Studies or related field or equivalent work experience
• Proficient in written and spoken English and Bislama, French an advantage
• At least 1 year experience working in emergency, disaster, climate change, community development or related field within Vanuatu
• Willing to travel regularly
• Driver’s license is essential
• Self-motivated and able to use initiative
• Computer literate with a strong command of Microsoft suites.
