Job Description:

Youth Challenge Vanuatu is seeking 3 interested candidates( 2 in Vila & 1 in Santo) to undertake the position of field staff at a voluntarily basis for a period of 2-3 months. These positions are the key facilitators of Youth Challenge Vanuatu Community projects. They provide leadership, timely decision making and facilitate the learning process for a team of youth participants. The person will liaise with the community leaders including all the beneficiaries of the project and will be responsible for the overall implementation of the community development project goal, objectives and activities. Roles & Responsibilities: Coordinate the implementation of the core community project; Oversee the implementation of small team projects in accordance with the YCV small team project guide; Coordinate the team of volunteers and ensuring their small team project reports are submitted. Taking lead in compiling all reports as one big report and submitting it to YCV;  Establishing a productive relationship/connection between host community members and the VOICE/YCV groups; Challenger team-building, training & orientation; Providing leadership, administrative, logistical and other support to challenger team while in the field; Understanding YCV policies and ensuring that challengers and GLs follow ALL YCV policies and immediately reporting any breaches of policy to the YCV office; Weekly phone communications with and reports to the YCV Project Coordinator or nominated staff member; Assist with closure logistics and preparation Assist with post-project monitoring and evaluation tasks Assist with post-project logistics Assist other YCV Program Coordinators as required.

Criteria:

Good communication and negotiation skills Good leadership skills and have similar experience in that particular field Good understanding in English (written and spoken) Have basic understanding of community development settings Possess Good organizational skills, reporting & facilitation skills Good team player Be able to coordinate a group of international and Ni-Van volunteers Have basic understanding of First Aid and the YCV programs would be preferable.
