| | Pacific Community-focused integrated Disaster Risk Reduction (PCIDRR) and Pacific Community Climate Change Risk Reduction (PCCCRR) Projects in Vanuatu. |
| | The Vanuatu Christian Council (VCC) is seeking a Country Project Coordinator to manage its ongoing PCIDRR and newly commenced PCCCRR Projects. This is a fixed term position until December 2014 and is based in the VCC office in Port Vila. |
| | The CPC will implement the two projects in accordance with project designs, annual plans and budgets and will supervise/liaise with local administration staff and manage work of Field Project Officers. |
| | Duties and responsibilities: |
| | Will report to a joint project steering committee through the VCC General Secretary (for administration) and the regional PCIDRR/PCCCRR Manager based in Suva, Fiji (for programs). |
| | Interested applicant must possess the following requirements: |
| | Criteria: |
| | - At least 5 years as a project/community grants scheme manager, community worker or trainer; Experience in management and monitoring of community - based DRR, DRM, and or CCA desirable |
| | - Knowledge of government and community disaster and climate preparedness/response mechanisms in Vanuatu; Knowledge of French/English/Bislama languages, tradition, culture and community |
| | structures/norms |
| | - Ability to work to deadlines and with minimal supervision; A valid Vanuatu driving license; A desire to work with and travel to remote and vulnerable communities |
| | - Computer literate with good written English skills; A relevant tertiary qualification |
| | - Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Strong understanding of gender and cross-cutting issues. |
