Key purpose of the position: The overall purpose of Save the Children Vanuatu Strengthening Adolescent Reproductive and Sexual Health Program (STARS Health Program) is to promote the sexual and reproductive health and well-being of young people through a model of community engagement, sexual and reproductive health service delivery, education and sustainable development

opportunities for young people, aged 10 - 27 years, on the islands of Efate, Ambae, Malekula, Santo and Vanualava.



We are currently seeking suitable candidate for the position of Youth Club Officer to be based in Ambae.

Duties and responsibilities:

1) Coordinate educational and skills building opportunities for young people to engage in sustainable livelihoods opportunities, develop life skills and healthy lifestyle practices and to become active citizens

2) Work in close cooperation with the community engagement officer and/or sports officer to support and increase the skills and knowledge of young people.



Selection Criteria:

Criteria:

- Demonstrates ability to build the capacity of others through training and coarching designed to develop skills, knowledge and abilities; Demonstrates the ability to develop, maintain and strengthen partnerships with

others inside and outside the organization (including community leaders) to achieve a desired outcome

- Demonstrates the ability to plan and organized self and others to ensure the timely completion of tasks while working to deadlines

- Demonstrates the ability to coordinate and support groups of youth; Demonstrates the ability to encourage and educate young people

- Willing and able to travel to and work in remote communities; Demonstrates knowledge and practical skills in community development interventions, including previous experience of liaising with a range of people-

including community leaders

- Knowledge of sustainable livelihoods, life skills and healthy lifestyle approaches; Dispay well developed verbal and written communication skills in both Bislama and English and is able to clearly communicate sensitive

topics such as HIV and family planning.
