We are looking for a WASH Technical Coordinator to join our team based in Tanna with significant travel to field sites.
The WASH Technical Coordinator will provide coordination of the technical aspects of activities to ensure activities are delivered to high quality and in line with best practice technical standards.

Your major responsibilities will be varied and will include;
  • Representing the CARE technical side of programs to stakeholders/Partners and at a Provincial Level.
  • Conducting WASH needs assessment and technical design of water schemes
  • Overseeing technical coordination and quality assurance of WASH activities
  • Team Management
  • Coordinates and in collaboration with the Logistic and Procurement team of the Logistics and supply management of WASH Materials and suppliers.

        Criteria:
        Required qualifications and skills:
        • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Water Supply Management, Water Engineering, Public Health Promotion,  Environmental Science or equivalent and/ or minimum 4-5 year relevant work experience, preferably in appropriate water supplies and technologies, sanitation and hygiene promotion
        • Proven technical skills in WASH programs, preferably for an INGO
        • Excellent communication skills in Bislama and intermediate (very good) in English
        • Ability to coordinate a technical function(s) and implement procedures and processes, with minimal supervision
        • Ability to develop high quality, concise reports and submission with accuracy
        • Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills, including the ability to plan and manage workflows and balance competing priorities to ensure timely processing to meet deadlines in a complex environment
        • Demonstrated strong leadership, decision making, problem solving, planning, analytical and influencing skills
        • Demonstrated experience in effectively leading, people management and motivating a team
        • Demonstrated honesty, maintaining confidentiality, reliable and trustworthy
        • Representational skills including developing networks and relationships with key  stakeholders
        • Proven understanding of working with an International Non-Government Organisation (INGO) and a willingness to learn about CARE, gender equality and women’s empowerment activities
        • Proven ability in managing a budget and/or cash;  and
        • Fully conversant in Microsoft Office with knowledge in Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel, intermediate numeric skills.
