Organisation Description
The Anglican Church of Melanesia Vanuatu (ACOM Vanuatu) is part of the Province of Melanesia comprising 2 countries, with its headquarters in Honiara, Solomon Islands.  It is an established grassroots institution in Northern Vanuatu (with a strong network of churches, parishes, dioceses, schools, rural training centres, etc.) situated across urban and remote areas across all Northern Vanuatu Provinces & Port Vila. This enables ACOM Vanuatu to have reach into all these areas through existing strong social and community networks, underpinned by extensive church membership.

ACOM Vanuatu has a number of ministries like the Mothers Union plus others that have their own structures and working in parallel with the Churche's structure in reaching out to the needy and the oppressed on voluntary basis.   ACOM, has trained MU members, priests, men and women volunteers who are actively engaging in the implementation of development projects/programs being coordinated through ACOM.  They play a major role in advancing/extending much needed information and skills into other remote communities.

Job Description
Purpose of the Role
To Support the Project Manager in the development, coordination, implementation, monitoring and reporting for the Safe, resilient Communities project. 
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Women’s Desk Officer (Safe, Resilient Communities Project Manager), the Project Officer will undertake the following duties.

Project Support and Implementation
• Support the development, coordination and implementation of activities at the request of the Project Manager 
• Liaise with the Project Manager, Mothers Union and community leaders to support and maintain the Drop In-Centre
• Key contact and liaison for the Pastoral care network 
• Travel to remote locations and project sites as required
• Plan and facilitate training to community leaders as requested
• Support the development of the Theology of Disaster Risk Reduction Training Package

Networking & Partnership
• Assist with managing the partnership between ACOMV and AOA
• Strengthen networks with new and current partners & stakeholders, and foster relationships with local development and civil society organizations
• Establish good working relationships with staff within the ACOM Diocese 

Monitoring & Evaluation
• Participate actively in monitoring and evaluation during field visits and partner capacity building interventions
• Draft quarterly monitoring reports based on review and analyses of project activities 
• Manage the timely submission of field activity reports to the Project Manager
• Write and submit feedback on program activities to communities and other stakeholders

Selection Criteria
Key Selection Criteria
• Year 12/13 Leaver with Certificate in Management/Project Management or suitable equivalent
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in project delivery or community development
• Very productive, self-motivated with excellent time management skills
• Is outcome and target oriented
• Experience in delivering trainings
• Excellent English skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work with and without supervision and follow instructions
• Willingness to travel to the provinces and very remote areas
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends & Public Holidays as required
• Ability to work within ACOM’s mission and Code of Conduct, including honesty, confidentiality and reliability
• Computer literate
• Willingness to undergo Police Clearance Check and provide references as a suitable person to work with communities

Salary
The Salary Scale will be in line with the Salary Grade & Structure of the Anglican Church of Melanesia, Grade 5.3.
