The Vanuatu Cricket Association (VCA) is the national governing body for the game of cricket in Vanuatu and one of the country’s fastest growing and leading sporting organizations. The VCA is promoting cricket to all people in Vanuatu regardless of gender, age, ability or location. Our National Teams perform on a world stage with our Male National Team ranked 29 in the world our Female Team 35 and our U19’s team ranked 2nd in the Pacific.

Job Description
We are advertising for a Competitions, Training and Facilities Manager. This is a rare opportunity to join a dynamic team at a world sporting body in Vanuatu and ensure the progress of Cricket in the country.

Job Description:

• Makes a yearly competitions plan for Efate, ensures that key stakeholders are aligned and there are no clashes within cricket nor with any other major sporting event
• Organizes and ensures all games in Efate are foreseen with scorers and umpires. Reviews performance of the scorers and umpires and takes corrective measurements if required.
• Ensures that grounds are marked, stumps/bails, balls, scorebooks, stationery, scoreboards and balls are organized prior to competition
• Updates scorecards on CriqHQ for all competitions in Vanuatu, ensures the “outer Islands” provide the correct and required information
• Develops a Coaches, Umpires and scorers Development Program that includes a comprehensive database of all coaches, scorers and umpires, a coaching and umpiring pathway and training opportunities.
• Plans and facilitates Level 0 coaching, umpiring and scoring courses.
• Supports clubs with structural advice. Facilitates club trainings and create a yearly training schedule. Follows clubs’ progress and flags potential issues or opportunities.
• Ensures field maintenance in general and before every competition
• Manages ground staff performance and development plans
• Manages maintenance of grounds workshop and equipment
Management of: All ground staff employed by VCA
Selection Criteria
Personal Skills, Experience and Attributes:
• Exceptional planning skills and ability to follow up
• Ability to work unsupervised
• Excellent communication skills
• Good knowledge of cricket, its rules and culture
• Strong relationship builder with all members of the community
• Conflict management skills and problem solving ability
• Intermediate computer knowledge including the use of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Language: English and Bislama
Salary
Dependent on experience and qualifications
