Job Desctiption:
Senior Photocopier & Printer Technician is responsible for installing, servicing, maintaining, and repairing photocopiers, printers, and multifunction devices. The role requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, experience with hardware and network-related issues, and the ability to provide reliable technical support to customers and team members.
Selection Criteria:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, print-quality, scanning, and connectivity faults.
- Perform preventive maintenance, breakdown repairs, servicing, and equipment inspections.
- Install, commission, configure, and test photocopiers, printers, scanners, and multifunction devices.
Configure network printing, IP settings, printer drivers, scan-to-folder/email, and related connectivity.
- Identify defective or worn components and recommend replacement parts and consumables.
- Monitor machine performance, meter readings, usage levels, and equipment condition.
- Maintain accurate service reports, repair records, meter readings, and maintenance documentation.
- Provide professional technical support and advice to customers.
- Handle complex or escalated technical issues requiring advanced troubleshooting.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior or field technicians.
- Recommend solutions to improve equipment performance, reliability, and reduce downtime.
QUALIFICATIONS & CRITERIA
- Proven senior-level experience servicing and repairing photocopiers, printers, scanners, and multifunction devices.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic troubleshooting.
- Experience with Canon photocopiers and printers, including imageRUNNER, IR Advance, DX - Series, and imagePROGRAF equipment, is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.
- Experience with printer installation, network configuration, and scanning solutions.
- Ability to diagnose complex technical faults and provide effective solutions.
- Good understanding of spare parts, toner, consumables, and component replacement.
- Technical qualification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, IT, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage service priorities, and support other technicians.
- Reliable, professional, organised, and committed to delivering high-quality technical service.
