Job Desctiption:
· Prepare and supervise the production of pastries, breads, cakes, desserts, cookies, creams, fillings, and other bakery products.
· Follow approved recipes, specifications, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
· Ensure all ingredients are weighed, measured, stored, and handled correctly.
· Maintain consistent quality, taste, texture, freshness, and appearance.
· Follow food safety, hygiene, allergen control, temperature control, labelling, and FEFO procedures.
· Monitor stock levels, product freshness, and wastage, reporting shortages or concerns to the Pastry Sous Chef.
· Ensure all pastry equipment, utensils, and work areas are clean, safe, and properly maintained.
Selection Criteria:
- Formal qualification in Pastry, Baking, Culinary Arts or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar position, preferably within a hotel or resort environment.
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, baking methods, dessert preparation and presentation.
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and kitchen sanitation standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines.
- Strong organisational, communication and teamwork skills.
- Creative, detail-oriented, reliable and passionate about delivering high quality products.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
