Job Desctiption:
The Restaurant Manager is responsible for the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of the restaurant, with a strong focus on delivering an exceptional guest experience, effective staff management, and maintaining consistent operational standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing front-of-house staff and overseeing daily restaurant service operations.
- Preparing staff rosters and supervising team members to ensure adequate service coverage.
- Providing on-the-job training, coaching, and development to restaurant staff.
- Ensuring consistently high standards of customer service and guest satisfaction.
- Handling guest feedback, enquiries, and complaints professionally and effectively.
- Working closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth coordination between front and back of house.
- Managing reservations, table allocations, and floor flow during service periods.
- Ensuring the restaurant maintains high standards of cleanliness, presentation, hygiene, and overall appearance.
- Monitoring stock levels and assisting with basic inventory and operational reporting as required.
- Ensuring staff comply with company policies, procedures, workplace standards, and health and safety requirements.
- Supporting management with daily operational tasks and initiatives to improve restaurant performance.
- Assisting with special events, functions, and busy service periods as required.
Selection Criteria:
- Previous experience in hospitality, restaurant supervision, or restaurant management.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to supervise, motivate, and manage a team effectively.
- Highly organised, reliable, and confident in managing day-to-day restaurant operations.
- Strong customer-service focus with a calm, professional, and approachable manner.
- Ability to handle guest concerns and resolve issues professionally.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure during busy service periods.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high service standards.
- Willingness and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, public holidays, and peak service periods.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the kitchen team and other departments.
