Job Desctiption:
The Project Coordinator provides technical and administrative support for quality implementation of MELCOR interventions in Vanuatu in line with national and provincial policies. The position supports field-level programming, coordination of technical assistance at national, provincial and community levels, partner capacity building, monitoring and learning, and country-level finance and administration.
The position will also support the project's gender equality, disability and social inclusion and monitoring, evaluation and learning commitments, working with relevant technical specialists.
Selection Criteria:
Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience
University degree or tertiary qualification in project management, climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, environmental sciences or a related field.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience supporting donor-funded program implementation at national or provincial level.
Experience working with government ministries and agencies in Vanuatu.
Good understanding of Vanuatu government systems and relevant national and provincial policies, particularly those related to ocean management.
Experience working with communities and local stakeholders using participatory approaches.
Experience providing administrative, logistics and operational support to programs.
Strong coordination, communication and teamwork skills.
Fluency in Bislama and strong working ability in English.
Desired Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Experience working in Torba Province.
Experience supporting monitoring, evaluation and learning, including monitoring, reporting, data collection and learning.
Experience supporting gender equality, disability and social inclusion in development programs.
Understanding of barriers affecting the participation and leadership of women and other marginalized groups in Vanuatu.
Familiarity with DRRM, marine protected areas, community resilience or climate-resilient livelihoods.
Experience documenting lessons learned and good practices.
